The baritone Thierry Marchant studied singing at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles with Jules Bastin. He was a finalist of the international singing competition of Palermo in 1997 and he is a soloist of the Opéra Studio of la Monnaie.
He played the role of Papageno (Die Zauberflöte, Mozart), Leporello (Don Giovanni, Mozart), El Dancaïro (Carmen, Bizet), a youth (Death in Venice, Britten), l'officier municipal (Thérèse, Massenet), le Baron de Gondremark (La Vie Parisienne, Offenbach), Zuniga (Carmen, Bizet) and Peachum (Threepenny Opera, Weil).
He took part in creations of contemporary operas: Sanaé by Nick Dumont (role of Sadahiko) and Hygiène de l'assassin by Daniel Schell (the third journalist).
He appeared on the stages of Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Grand Théâtre du Luxembourg, Barclay Theater (Irvine, California), Théâtre Poème (Brussels), Théâtre du Casino de Spa, Palais des Beaux-Arts de Charleroi, ...
He also performs art songs, lieder, mélodies and sacred music.
